Completed projects/programmes

1. Rural Infrastructure Development Programme (RIDP)
Social mobilization sector of RIDP was carried out by RESDTN with the financial support from Asian Development Bank. It implemented this programme from 2001 to 2005. The main objective of the programme was to construct the rural road covering 14 VDCs of Tanahun district through the social mobilization process. During the programme 86.271 KM rural road was constructed with organizing and implementing various types of income generating programmes, public hearing and review and institutional development.

2. Child Rights & Development Programme
RESDTN had established 5 Early Child Development Centres in three different VDCs of Tanahun district in 1997. It was funded by UNICEF/NGO Network Tanahun for the first 3 years. RESDTN had provided the centre management skill to the respected communities. However, all the centres are completely handover to the community for their sustainability.

3. Empowerment Programme for the Communities (EPC)
With the funding support RESDTN has implemented Empowerment Programme for the Communities in Manapang VDC of Tanahun district since 2005. This programme aimed to empower the communities which are consisted by most disadvantage groups. The following activities are carried out under the programme:

  • Empowered the communities through the skill development, income generation and construction the rural road with the coordination of local authorities.
  • Empowered the communities through enhance institutional management capacities on the basis of democratic, good governance, equality, equity, human rights and peace building principle.
  • Educated the political representatives of VDC, social workers and members of Community Based Organizations (CBOs) about the principles/concepts of democracy, good governance, human rights, social/gender equality and peace building.

4. Community Based Disaster Management Project (CBDMP)
RESDTN has implemented this project in the financial support of UNDP in six districts. The districts were Chitwan, Makwanpur, Tanahun, Syanja, Sindhuli and Sarlahi. The project aimed to reduce vulnerability of community from natural disasters and protect common property and community resources.

5. Other completed Programs

  • Supported on micro-credit activities to Single Woman.
  • Provided skill and income generating training as well as awareness programme on various aspects to conflict affected communities and prisoner.
